TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year secretarial or receptionist experience, neat professional appearance. Legible handwriting. Familiarity with English composition, rules of spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Must be efficient in keeping up with work demands. Ability to work with interruptions. Pleasant telephone voice. Knowledge of filing procedures. Pleasant personality and ability to apply courtesy and tact when dealing with the public and other personnel. Demonstrates the ability to maintain confidential communications, verbally and written.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: General knowledge of office procedures, filing and copy work. Ability to receive, sort and distribute in—coming and out—going correspondence in a confidential manner.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Good physical and mental health. Must have finger and hand dexterity to handle and utilize various types of office equipment.

SPECIAL NEEDS: Must have good visual aural acuity in dealing with residents, families, visitors, and other personnel. May have to handle emergency situations, including physically assisting residents in the reception area.

DUTIES: Assists with admission inquiries and waiting list. Keeps accurate records as instructed. Carries out related tasks as required or as delegated by Campus Administrator or Assisted Living Administrator.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs various clerical tasks utilizing experience and knowledge of office procedures. Works directly with the Administrator and Department Managers in carrying out responsibilities, both delegated and self—initiated. Answers the telephone, receives, or transfers messages. Greet visitors and direct them to appropriate locations. Monitors resident activities in reception area and notifies nursing department or social worker if residents need assistance.

EDUCATION: High school diploma

  • Weekends as needed
