VDOT’s Salem District Construction Division is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector position. The position is available in the District’s Western Area Construction Group – Montgomery, Pulaski, Floyd & Giles Counties to independently coordinate, schedule, and inspect all phases of work on routine and complex highway construction and maintenance projects for Salem District as a member of the inspection team, you will: • ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with contracts, plans, and specificationsMinimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
• Experience with construction methods, materials, equipment, standards, specifications and terminologyAdditional Considerations
• Experience in a broad range of road and bridge construction inspection activities with a DOT or a DOT consultant inspection firm
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and Site Manager or other project management software.
• Experience overseeing the work of others.
• Possession of current certifications and completion of fall protection and confined space
training.
