Reports to: Principal

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

St. Columbkille Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and supportive Teacher’s Aide to assist in the primary and intermediate grades.

• Assist the teacher with classroom management and instructional activities.
• Model Christian values and foster a positive, faith-filled classroom environment.
• Provide support to students with day-to-day learning needs.
• Help organize and manage classroom materials and supplies.
• Supervise students outside the classroom, including in the lunchroom, at recess, during Mass, and during transitions or breaks.
• Follow daily instructions from the classroom teacher(s) to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Understanding of child development, learning strategies, and classroom management.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude, adapt to changing situations, contribute to problem-solving efforts, and integrate faith into daily interactions and support for students.
• Ability to assist with lessons, follow directions, and provide behavioral support.
• Highly organized with strong multitasking and time management skills.
• Patience, empathy, and professionalism in diverse learning environments.
• Familiarity with school policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality standards.

Education and Experience
Education & Experience
Must pass a background check and complete Safe Environment Certification.
Previous education and/or childcare experience preferred but not required.
